Tinsel Edwards (UK)

Tinsel Edwards is a London based artist whose characteristically anti-establishment paintings comment on a wide variety of political and social issues, stressing the urgency of change within our finite lives.A lover of typography and, often incorporating text, mottos and slogans into her work, the paintings are rendered with both a tongue-in cheek humour and more subtle emotion. This dualism evokes a personal narrative underpinning the challenging universal themes, creating a unique commentary on the world around her.Tinsel is also the co-founder of the Hackney Downs gallery A Side – B Side. With a reputation since its launch in 2011 for exhibiting an exciting mixture of both emerging and established artists alongside a packed schedule of community focused workshops and events, this NPO is the epitome of the supportive, artist led ambience of the East End art scene.
